Welcome to Willow Oak Observatory
Willow Oak Observatory was opened in June 2011, near the community of Gamber, Maryland, USA. The observatory is primarily used for solar system and general amateur observations. Asteroid occultation timing is done for the International Occultation Timing Association (IOTA).
The roll off observatory building was built by the fine folks at Backyard Observatories. The telescope is a Celestron C-14 SCT, mounted to a Celestron CGE mount. A Hyperstar lens assembly allows operation at F:1.9. Various camera systems are available for use, and video recording with injected GPS time is used for asteroid occultations.
